Kek Lapis Prune - Panasonic Cooking


  1. Line the bottom of a 7” square cake tin with parchment paper.
  2. Flatten prunes with rolling pin in between two sheets of plastic.
  3. Combine butter, vanilla powder, vanilla extract, mix spice, golden syrup and condense milk in a bowl. Whisk all ingredients on high speed until thick and creamy.
  4. In another bowl, whisk egg yolks, egg white, castor sugar, flour, water and ovalette until thick and fluffy.
  5. Add butter mixture into the egg mixture and continue to whisk till well combined.
  6. Separate batter into 10 portions.
  7. Spread a portion of batter evenly into the cake tin.
  8. Tilt pan left and right to the level batter or use back of your spoon. Grill using top grill mode for 7 minutes or until golden.
  9. Remove from oven and poke some holes with a fork. Press cake layer to remove excess air.
  10. Spread another portion of batter over the cooked layer, tilt pan to level the batter and arrange flattened prunes onto batter. Grill for 7 minutes or until golden.
  11. Alternate step number 7 to 9 unit batter is finished.


  • 250 g butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp mix spice
  • 80 g golden syrup
  • 80 g condense milk
  • 15 egg yolk
  • 3 egg white
  • 120 g castor sugar
  • 80 g superfine flour
  • 20 ml cold water
  • 1 tbsp ovalette
  • 200 g pitted prunes, halved and flattened
