Longevity Eight Treasure Congee - Panasonic Cooking


  1. Rinse all the grains and beans with water.
  2. Pour in green beans, lentil, red bean and peanuts into the slow cooker pot.
  3. For savory, add in chicken stock. For sweet dessert, add in rock sugar.
  4. Cook  for 1 hour under “High” setting.
  5. Pour in short grain rice, black glutinous rice, barley and millet into the slow cooker pot.
  6. Cook  for 1 hour under “High” setting.
  7. For savory, add in salt to taste. For sweet dessert,  add in sugar to taste.


  • ¼ cup Short grain rice
  • ¼ cup Black glutinous rice
  • ¼ cup Barley
  • ¼ cup Millet
  • 2 tbsp Green bean
  • 2 tbsp Lentil (soak overnight)
  • 2 tbsp Red bean (soak overnight)
  • 2 tbsp Peanuts (soak overnight)

For savoury

  • 1.5L Chicken stock

For sweet dessert

  • 1.5L Water
  • 150g Rock sugar
